Boy Scout Art Merit Badge
The Boy Scout Art badge is as much about the literal act of creating art as it is learning about the significance of art. One of the requirements of this badge is to create four pieces of art. Acrylic paint is one of the acceptable mediums. We have acrylics available for canvas and wood board paintings.
Note to scouts: Check with your counselor or leader to make sure your Creative License activities meet the requirements for your Art merit badge.
Instructional Canvas Painting for Scouts
Bring in the whole troop for a guided canvas painting lesson! Our Creative Consultants will showcase different techniques as they paint on one of our designs step-by-step. At the end of the session, have everyone compare their artwork. This is a great lesson in how everyone can add their own individual flair to art.
Troop Bonding Activities
Our art studio is a safe, fun place for your troop members bond. Set up an icebreaker activity to introduce new scouts or just give your scouts a chance to have some fun. There are art projects appropriate for kids of all ages and levels. Cub and Brownie level scouts will love to get messy with acrylic paint that washes right off. And don’t worry, we have aprons available to keep uniforms (mostly) clean.
